EXPLORE LOS CABOS

Los Cabos has quickly become one of the most desirable vacation spots south of the border. Los Cabos includes the town of Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, the Tourist Corridor (the area between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas) and the East Cape. The Los Cabos area is located on the southern tip of the narrow Baja California peninsula, almost 1,000 miles southeast of San Diego.

The Los Cabos area was “discovered” in the 1940’s by American WWII pilots who spotted large schools of billfish in the blue waters of the Sea of Cortez. It did not take long to attract Hollywood stars like John Wayne and Bing Crosby to fly their private planes to the area to fish and hunt at exclusive resorts. It remained an insider’s secret and the playground for the privileged until the mid 70’s when the two-lane Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas highway opened the Baja tip to the world. Soon after that, it became known as one of the world’s best fishing areas by anglers and the world’s aquarium by Jacques Cousteau. The area today enjoys over one million visitors a year and is recognized as a fishing and golfing haven. Many Hollywood stars enjoy the Los Cabos area including George Clooney, Oprah, Jessica Simpson, Brittany Spears and Jennifer Anniston. There is something for everyone in Cabo San Lucas.
